Münster: 'Roman' second

Münster is always worth a visit. And then there’s that magnificent castle backdrop… that’s an extra incentive. ‘Roman’ also seems to love the venue, even though it was rather stormy during today’s Grand Prix. In any case, it certainly didn’t feel like late summer – more like autumn.

First Romance was, as he had been during his recent victories in Darmstadt and Elmlohe, beautifully focused. It’s great fun to ride him. We did drop a few points here and there, though. But that doesn’t detract from the superb riding experience. And 72.720 per cent – second place – is a fantastic result.

I was particularly pleased that 'Roman’s' owner, Gaby Kippert, was there cheering us on! Münster is always worth a visit.
