Van Deyk

Van Deyk was known to us only as "The Boss" - a title he had truly earned with his incomparable aura - and which he never relinquished until his death at the fabulous age of 34. He was simply something very special. All you had to do was look into his ever-awake eyes ... In his mind, he was always young, smart and wanted to be challenged. He enjoyed his daily care and exercise program, finally he was sure of the whole attention of his/the team ...

Van Deyk liked to take the reins, was always one step ahead and had a strong character in a positive sense. This is the only way to explain that after a stable fire he not only fought his way back into life, but also into the Grand Prix arena. His toughness, his eagerness to learn, but also his extremely elegant, light-footed movement he passed on to his offspring in a resounding manner.

Van Deyk was bred by my father. He is out of the thoroughbred Patricius xx.

With him I register, after his racing-career, in its process he earned more then 100.000 Mark, successes in medium dressage tests. Van Deyk is one of three licensed sons of Patricius xx.

The dam state premium Vanessa, 1992 reserve victory of Hessian show, is bred to the founder-sire Impuls and carries with the DLG- and many times championships victory Ibiskus the very valuable blood of Pythagoras. In 29 years of bred she gave birth to 22 foals and she died at the age of 35. Vanessa goes back to the family of Vera O373.

Van Deyk became premium-sire of his licensing 1986 in Neumünster and afterwards he was prepared for his career in equine sport first by my father and later by me. As a six years-old he won medium level dressage tests, at the age of eight advanced level and finally Grand Prix tests. In total he registers more then 60 victories in advanced level up to Grand Prix level-dressage tests.

Due to his offspring's successes Van Deyk obtained 1997 the award elite-sire and in 2005 the title Trakehner stallion of the year. Before the victory of his son Kaiserkult TSF 2004 in national championships for six years-old dressage horses. His grandson Grafenstolz, who qualified for all diciplines, became national champion of six years-old eventing horses and short after world champion. In the following year Kaiserkult-full-brother Kaiserdom TSF repeated the title-win in Warendorfer - a sensation, never before could full-siblings win two championships titels.

Kaiserkult TSF, who also was victorious under me up to Grand Prix level, Kaiserdom TSF and premium-sire Zauberdeyk are Van Deyk's three of twelve licensed sons. Polarion, Grafenstolz's father, participated himself successful in world-cup dressage tests. Further 220 sport-successful offsprings of Van Deyk earned together almost 180.000 Euro.

After 34 years together, I had to say goodbye to my companion in February 2018. Van Deyk hopefully looks up from above, I'll never forget him!
