Sammy Davis Jr., affectionately known to us as Sam Sam, left my stable yesterday after almost eight years together.
You wouldn't believe how much I am emotionally involved.
I have found Sammy to be absolutely enrichment every day. He is such a special horse - a great beau with so much charm and wit! A horse that inspires and captivates everyone around him. At World and European Championships we competed together for Team Germany and danced tango so beautifully together - I will always dance our favourite freestyle in my mind !!!! We always walked "hand in hoof"and often laughed with and at each other.
I am incredibly grateful to Conny Herbert for entrusting me with his training. I am grateful to her brother Matthias for letting us dance and grow together for so many years.
I will miss you very much dear "Sam Sam" and thank you for our journey together, your trust and your fighting spirit. 🖤
Sammy now has a new job and I wish @jeannine_pelzer only the best with this so incredible horse. I am convinced he will have a good time with her, canter across meadows and paddocks and continue to enrich our sport together with Jeannine. All the best to you two! 🍀
