With a magnificent short test in Münster-Handorf, Excalibur also confirmed under saddle the high esteem in which he was held as the acclaimed second reserve winner of the 2022 Westphalian licensing. His trot, which was already performed with a lot of natural cadence, his wonderful uphill canter, his exemplary rideability and his boundless willingness to perform were all rated 8.5. Excalibur was awarded an 8.0 for his absolutely rhythmic and ground covering walk. With a total score of 8.4, Excalibur was only narrowly beaten into second place in a strong test field. The further equestrian development of this promising young stallion is now in the hands of the riding master and two-time Olympic champion Dorothee Schneider.
His sire Escamillo won silver and bronze at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses for six and seven-year-olds. In 2023, he reached the final of the Burg Pokal with the second-highest qualifying result and came third in the warm-up test. Almost 40 of his sons have been licensed, including champion and premium stallions as well as stallion market leaders. His sporty offspring are led by the two-time national and Westphalian champion Eivissa/Jessica Lynn Thomas/SWE, who was awarded a 10 for trot and canter and a 9.5 for rideability and conformation.
The dam, Despacita, is a full sister to the licensed Vice Bundeschampion and Hanoverian Champion, Despacito, who won dressage competitions up to M** level. Her half-sister Vita Amorosa (by Van Vivaldi I) placed first in tests for young dressage horses.
The dam's sire Don Nobless collected successes in international Grand Prix competitions with Susan Pape/GBR and sired 15 licensed sons. His first offspring have reached Grand Prix level.
The granddam, Verb.Pr.St. Selina, is a half-sister to the dressage horses Nymphenburg's Sympathicus (by Sir Donnerhall I) and Lafita Laila (by Lemony's Nicket), who were successful up to St. Georges and M** level.
In the further generations, the guaranteed successes Sandro Hit, De Niro and Ehrentusch follow in direct line.
The line also includes the licensed stallions Serrano H (by Sandro Hit; international Grand Prix), KEC Maximum Joe (by Lasangos; 1.60 meter jumping), Disco-Boy (by Disco Star), Festival Westfalia (by Florestan), Picador (by Pilot), Rendant (by Radetzky) and River Phoenix (by Rivero II) as well as the international Grand Prix horse Flovinos Feiner Kerl (by Flovino)/Anush Agarwalla/IND.
